I met a childhood friend of mine I hadn’t seen for the longest time. .Adults now in grown up lives, houses, kids, cars and wives, Crazy how we’ve moved so much and how we’ve drifted out of touch, Working hard on different dreams in normal lives or so it seems. But for a moment there and then we were back at school again. Two little boys so brave and bold who never planned on growing old The innocence of playground years the kissing chase and shedding tears. The holidays and summer weeks playing kerbs and hide and seek. A magic time it really was so few worries and no major flaws. Life you’d say was so carefree and filled with curiosity But for a moment there and then we were back at school again. Two little boys so brave and bold who never planned on growing old And although we’ve both been walking down completely separate roads. We can’t deny the memories within our hearts we hold. Without a doubt we both agreed they were rare and special times, that helped to carve and shape, two young and fragile minds, and it left us standing speechless when we counted up the years. But for a moment there and then we were back at school again. Two little boys so brave and bold who never planned on growing old

A million miles from heaven, a million miles from you, and my heart is slowly sinking abandoned by its crew. A storm is surely building; the wind is gaining strength the sky knows where your hiding but he won’t say where you went. I’ve broadened my horizons to gain a better view, Ive memorized the landmarks in case I need a clue, but it’s hard to judge the distance from this broken shore but I will take my chances, instead of waiting for, Another lonely day out on the peer watching the waves, thinking of my love, as the clouds break above, and down falls the rain, in teardrops of pain. I’ve lost my self-esteem and it’s nowhere to be seen, I’m out on a limb and all I can do now is swim If the wicked coldness stops me in my plight, please understand my reasons, for god knows if I’m right. But I can’t keep pretending I’m happy in this place when it feels like I’m dissolving and I don’t think I could face, Another lonely day out on the peer watching the waves, thinking of my love, as the clouds break above, and down falls the rain, in teardrops of pain. I’ve lost my self-esteem and it’s nowhere to be seen, I’m out on a limb and all I can do now is swim North and south there’s no way out, east and west well Ive tried my best, it’s just; Another lonely day out on the peer watching the waves, thinking of my love, as the clouds break above, and down falls the rain, in teardrops of pain. I’ve lost my self-esteem and it’s nowhere to be seen, I’m out on a limb and all I can do now is swim Out On A Limb as Gaeilge A mhilliún mile ó néamh, a mhilliún mile uait, Tá mó chroí ag dul faoi go mall, tréighte ag mó chriú, Tá an stoirm ag éirí, an gaoth ag éirí níos láidre, Tá a fhios ag an spéir cá bhfui tú i bhfolach ach ní dhéarfadh sé cá ndeachaigh tú, Leathnaigh mé mó dhearcadh, chun radharc níos fear a aimsiú, Chuir mé na sainchomharthaí i gcuimhne dom, ionas go mbeidh leid ag teastail uaim, Tá sé deacair chun fad a mheas, ón gcladach briste, Ach togfaidh mé mó seans in ionadh fanacht le haghaidh, La eile uaigneacha, amach ar an gcé agus feachaint ar na dtonnta, Ag smaoineamh ar mó ghrá agus na scamiall os cionn sa spéir, ansin thosaigh an bháisteach ag titim, mar dheoir gleoite, Chiall mé mó fhéinmhuinin agus níl sé le fhéiceail áit ar bith, Táim ar lár agus nach an dara rogha agam ag snámh, Má stopann an fuacht mé go baolach, Le do thoil bheith tuisceanach le haghaidh mo cúiseanna, tá a fhios ag Dia dá mbeadh an ceart agam, Ach ní féidir liom leanúint ar aghaidh ag ligeant go bhfuil mé sásta anseo, Nuair a mhothaím go bhfuil mé le scor agus ní dóigh liom gur féidir liom seasamh, tuaisceart agus deisceart níl aon ealú, Oirthear agus iarthar bhuel, rinne mé mó dhicheall.
